The Internal Revenue Service (SII) has published its eighth version of the Tax Schemes Catalogue, a document that annually identifies cases or tax planning strategies considered potentially avoidant, that is, legal mechanisms used by taxpayers to reduce their tax burden.
On this occasion, 10 new transactions have been incorporated that could be considered avoidant, expanding the catalogue to 85 schemes. Among them, those related to intergenerational wealth transfers and the use of tax losses to reduce the tax base stand out.
It is worth noting that this document has been published by the institution since 2015 and is “available to taxpayers to increase levels of legal certainty and improve tax compliance.”
