As a result of the various fires that have affected residents of the Valparaíso Region, and following the declaration of the provinces of Marga Marga and Valparaíso under a constitutional state of emergency due to catastrophe and as disaster-affected areas, the Internal Revenue Service (SII) issued two administrative instructions which “will automatically extend to other disaster areas that, in the context of the fires, may be declared as such in subsequent decrees.”
In this regard, the SII reported that “the instructions will take effect from their publication in the Official Gazette, without prejudice to covering inventory losses and destruction of documents caused by fires occurring from February 2024 onwards.”
