CCL Auditores Consultores hosted a breakfast event and webinar titled “Applying the Amendments to Law No. 20,393 in Daily Practice: How Does It Affect My Company and Its Employees?”

In this exclusive breakfast event for CCL clients, as well as in a webinar format open to the public, the speakers included: Anita Muñoz, Comptroller and Compliance Officer at VIVO SpA; Maritza Marchant, Director of Consulting at CCL Auditores Consultores; and Carlos Tapia, Director of the Corporate Tax Area at CCL.

This Thursday, October 24, part of the CCL Auditores Consultores team organized an exclusive breakfast for the firm’s clients and a webinar open to the public on the topic “Applying the Amendments to Law No. 20,393 in Daily Practice: How Does It Affect My Company and Its Employees?”.

Around 25 clients attended in person, and more than 40 people joined the live broadcast to listen to the three speakers, who addressed Law No. 20,393 on the Criminal Liability of Legal Entities, with emphasis on the amendment that came into force in September through Law 21.595.

Among the speakers was Anita Muñoz, Comptroller and Compliance Officer at VIVO SpA. She is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgetown, with several courses in compliance. She has corporate and commercial experience in companies such as Enap, Unilever, Nissan Motor Corporation, SQM, and Stryker, and participates in Women in Compliance, REDMAD · Women in Senior Management Network, and Abogadas In House Chile.

Representing the CCL team, Maritza Marchant, Director of Consulting at CCL, participated. She has more than 25 years of professional experience, having served various companies in the commercial and productive sectors, financial institutions, insurance companies, investment funds, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, among others. Academically, she is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from Universidad Andrés Bello. She also has various diplomas in corporate governance and is certified in ISO standards, among others.

Also participating was Carlos Tapia, Director of the Corporate Tax Area at CCL, who has more than 15 years of professional experience in the legal field, advising local and foreign clients in corporate and tax law. Academically, Carlos is a lawyer; holds a degree in Legal and Social Sciences; and has Master’s degrees in Mining and Water Law and in Taxation from FEN. He also holds various diplomas in legal studies.

The first to present was Carlos Tapia, who provided an overview of Law No. 20,393 on the Criminal Liability of Legal Entities and its latest developments. He was followed by Maritza Marchant and Anita Muñoz, who addressed the need for implementation or adjustments required for those organizations that already have some standard, system, or model for crime prevention, considering the new challenges and industry standards in light of the aforementioned Economic Crimes Law.
