Legislative Bulletin | CCL Auditores Consultores Reports | U.S.: The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) Has Entered into Force

In the United States, as of January 1 of this year, companies (Corporations, Limited Liability Companies or LLCs, Partnerships) and other vehicles registered at the state level to conduct business in that country must report their beneficial owners under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).

It should be noted that this regulation was issued on September 29, 2022, by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and seeks the disclosure of information regarding beneficial owners, known as Beneficial Ownership Information (“BOI”). In this regard, the CTA was approved by the U.S. Congress as part of the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020.
