Antofagasta: Javier Jaque, Jaime Preiss, José Quinteros, and Agustín Brzovic Delivered a Talk on “Inheritance, Family Businesses, and Tax Avoidance”

CCL partners addressed the challenges of a potential tax reform, the impacts of the new Tax Compliance Law, and issues related to sustainability within business groups in the region.

This Monday, CCL Auditores Consultores organized a “Cheese & Wine” event featuring the talk “Inheritance, Family Businesses, and Tax Avoidance” at the Enjoy Hotel in Antofagasta, attended by various executives and business leaders from the region.

The session included presentations by CCL Managing Partner Javier Jaque; Northern Region Partner José Quinteros; Tax Legal Consulting Partner Jaime Preiss; and Legal Director Agustín Brzovic. They provided insights into tax compliance and sustainability within business groups for decision-making, focusing on key regional industries such as mining, commerce, real estate activities, energy, and financial services.

“Our objective with this event was to bring executives closer to the concept of sustainability and its practical implications, especially in financial statements and decision-making related to tax compliance. We wanted executives and business owners to have greater clarity when preparing their budgets, considering not only VAT or income tax, but also the various tax dimensions that may impact their business,” said José Quinteros.

Among the participating companies and executives were representatives from Atacama Angels, Austin, Electroweather, independent business owners from the region, among others.

At the close of the event, Javier Jaque thanked the attendees and added: “We trust this will be the first of many events we organize in Antofagasta and surrounding areas, as the interest generated by the discussion opened opportunities for growth and learning that will drive sustainable development and regulatory compliance among companies in the region. It is essential that business groups become aware of the changes ahead and how these issues will impact the structure of companies across different industries in the country, where Antofagasta cannot be left behind.”

Later that same afternoon, CCL partners conducted a training session for the Association of SII Inspectors of Antofagasta (AFIICH) on the same topic.

It is worth noting that CCL Auditores Consultores has more than 180 professionals across the country, distributed in seven offices located in Santiago (headquarters), Antofagasta, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Valdivia, Osorno, and, since December 2024, Puerto Montt.
